Right before lockdown 2020, this Ubuntu of musicians assembled and conducted by New Orleans Jazz Professor Matt Lemmler included world class artists such as Brian Blade, Joel Frahm, Shane Theriot, Ashlin Parker, Steve Masakowski, Dan Caro, and many others, recorded two entire albums of songs/arrangements dedicated to the City of New Orleans.  “Powerhouse” New Orleans in Stride-Volume III (duos, trios, quartets & quintets) and “Homecoming”  New Orleans in Stride-Volume IV featuring the New Orleans Jazz Revival Band.  Both Vinyl albums are tributes to the City of New Orleans especially to The Storyville District, Louis Armstrong, Danny Barker, Ellis Marsalis, Jr., Congo Square, the New Orleans Jazz Funeral and many other historic moments in our city’s music story, plus tributes to jazz artists such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Chick Corea.
